Pa. Posse Roundup
Race Recap

Practice was hot and steamy, but as race time approached thunderstorms
were on the way. This didn't dampen the spirits of the 52 entries for
the RC Pro Dirt Oval Series' First Pa. Posse Roundup. After a near
miss by a serious thunderstorm after round one, the racers voted to
shorten qualifying to two rounds. The mains were awesome.

The Pro Truck a-main was a warm up for what was to come. TQ Jack Moose
Jr. and #2 young Devin Beidel swapped the lead four times until Devin
nipped Jack by .07sec. at the line. Anthony Cloud came home third.
For the Nitro EDM main you needed a scorecard to keep up. The traffic
was thick and played a part in the end. TQ Jeff Greenly led at the
start but not for long. On lap three Russ Lebo came from the number
three spot to take the point. On lap five Jeff returned the favor and
reassumed the lead. By Lap 17 David Kranzel slipped in front with
Greenly and Nathan Fletcher in pursuit.  Jeff was in front by 26 but
in the last minute he got hung up and Kranzel got a piece of the
tangle and Fletcher got by to take the win. Russ Lebo finished fourth.
You can only see EDM racing like this in the Northeast.
The Pro Sprints looked like it would be a runaway. Phil Cooper came
from #2 to pass TQ Mark Blake on the first lap. Phil set sail and 2
thru 5 stayed on the same lap most of the race. With less than 15sec.
left Cooper stripped out a spur gear on the front strait. Bryan Boyd
and Brock Heffner came from 5 and 4 to get by Phil and place first and
second with Cooper hanging on for third. TQ Mark Blake was fourth.
Pro Latemodel was going to be another one hard to keep up with. Number
7 qualifier Adam Smith came to the front to take the lead from TQ C.J.
Funk on lap 3. C.J. got back by on the next lap and lead all the way
to lap 21 when #8 man Chris Fair took over. Four laps later Mike
Schell took the point closely followed by bump up Russ Lebo. At the
end they were 1-2 followed by Chris Fair and Adam Smith.

Like I said AWSOME. Some of the best racing of the year. Special
thanks to Mike and Phil Beidel, Jack Moose Jr., Brock Heffner, Bill
Albright, and Nick DeAngelis for a great track and super race
management. A Special Thanks to the racers of the PA Nitro Tour that
came out and made this event a success.
We will have to do this again REAL SOON………..
